Amanda has over 40 years experience as an entrepreneur in the beauty industry. She began her career on her front porch in Harrisburg, PA at the age of eleven years old as a hair braider. Within one year she had the entire neighborhood as customers requiring her to move to a full-time business in her parents basement. She made enough money to start supporting herself and helped her parents support her other five siblings. She continued in business throughout her high school years. By the time she graduated from high school she had an established self-made beauty business. In addition she went on to further her cosmetology education by attending Empire Beauty School and receiving her Cosmetology and Cosmetology Instructors License. This lead to the establishment of her 40 year career as owner of her own beauty salon Amanda’s Point of View Unisex Salon along with her establishment as Founder/CEO of Amanda’s Art of Cosmetology Institute. Over the course of her career she made brief stops and worked for major beauty companies such as Dudley Cosmetology University as a Cosmetology Instructor and DCU Ambassador. She also worked as a platform artist with Avlon Products and appeared on WE tv Reality Show in two episodes of the hit tv show "CUTTING IT: IN THE ATL"

Amanda is currently licensed in several states. She’s a Cosmetology Continuing Education Provider, Beauty Salon & Beauty School Owner, State Board Trainer, Hair Braiding Expert, Beauty School Evaluator, Author, Motivational Speaker, Philanthropist for Black Women & Girls and offers Beauty Scholarships in Cosmetology and Hair Braiding. Amanda who is better known as "Black Girl Beauty Coach" is the Best Beauty & Business Coach You’d Ever Want To Meet as she travels the world teaching, training, evaluating and constantly researching about the art & science of cosmetology in every shape and form. In 2021 Amanda & her daughter Uniquia Trademarked “Black Girl Beauty” and rebranded their empire.
